About the salt
Where the Aghanashini River meets the Arabian Sea, salt forms slowly along the estuarine coast of Gokarna.
Each harvest is sourced directly from multi-generational salt-making families whose knowledge of this landscape has been passed down over generations.
For generations, its story has travelled no farther than the coast itself.
India is home to some of the world’s oldest and most diverse salt-making traditions.
Salt & Folks exists to celebrate one of them.
A salt shaped by the river, the sea and generations of human knowledge.
